Tout en assumant les obligations et les prérogatives du chef de famille, d’homme d’Etat, de stratège militaire, d’homme de réseau, de chef de projet, de dignitaire religieux, Abd el-Kader a pleinement assumé ceux de l’ascète (zahid), de l’extatique (majdhub), du cheminant (salik), du disciple (faqir) de l’esseulé (fard), du gnostique (‘arif). Confronté aux réalités multiples et contradictoires du monde, il a su se maintenir en équilibre dans un entre-deux aux limites de l’intelligible. Nous explorerons au cours de notre intervention des exemples pris dans sa vie, son œuvre et son héritage qui éclairent le caractère médian et médiateur d’une figure historique et mystique unique en son genre.   \nAhmed Bouyerdene est chercheur en histoire, auteur et docteur en études méditerranéennes et orientales de l’Université de Strasbourg. Il est également diplômé de l’École nationale supérieure d’arts de Paris-Cergy (DNSEP, 1994).\nChercheur associé à l’IREMAM-UMR 7310, CNRS-IEP- Aix Marseille Université.
