Il est né en 1207 et a vécu essentiellement à Konya, dans l’actuelle Turquie ; Il y est mort le 17 décembre 1273. Lui-même disciple de Shams al-Dîn Tabrîzî, il est appelé Mevlana, c’est-à-dire « notre Maître », pour le rôle qu’il a tenu sur les plans de la transmission de la sagesse soufie et de l’initiation à la voie soufie, voie dite mevlevie. Son enseignement est toujours vivant, son audience est immense. Parmi ses écrits, le Mesnevi, compte comme l’une des œuvres majeures du soufisme et de la littérature persane.\nAu cours de cette conférence, Hayat Nur Artiran prendra comme texte d’étude l’histoire de Marie et de sa rencontre avec l’ange Gabriel dans le Mathnawî, et nous livrera quelques clés pour mieux aborder et comprendre cette œuvre. Nous vous invitons  à lire les distiques 3700 à 3788 du livre 3 du Mathnawî, disponible sur ce lien ici. Nous vous invitons également à lire les versets 16 à 36 de la sourate 19.\nH. Nur Artıran est auteure de plusieurs ouvrages, notamment sur l’amour selon Rûmî et dans la Voie soufie mevlevie. Ils ont pour titre, en turc, L’amour n’abandonne pas et La porte du Nûn, ce dernier étant un commentaire de sagesses transmises par les grands noms de la sainteté en islam. Son dernier ouvrage a été traduit en français, et vient de paraître sous le titre  Rûmî – L’épreuve de l’amour aux Éditions Bayard.
