Ces disciplines offrent un panorama fascinant et intriguant sur les aspects du réel auxquels nous pouvons avoir accès. Mais celui-ci reste au fond toujours aussi mystérieux. Les deux conférenciers feront le point sur les différentes positions relatives à cette question, et ouvriront le débat. La science est-elle autre chose qu’un ensemble de recettes pour prédire ? Quel est le statut de nos théories et de nos modèles ? Peut-on maintenir une perspective réaliste ? Enfin, la difficulté de définir ce qu’est le réel n’ouvre-t-elle pas la porte à d’autres approches ? Car les grandes spiritualités ont enseigné qu’elles pouvaient conduire leurs disciples à une connaissance du réel qui constitue l’accomplissement de la vocation humaine.\nInès Safi est chercheuse au CNRS, au Laboratoire de Physique des Solides, Université de Paris XI- Orsay.
